(Please forward to colleagues interested in practicing in Canada)

Spring in Canada is truly beautiful!

Flowers

Spring Daffodils

Flowers start peeking out. Temperatures are rising. Snow has disappeared. Children start to play baseball. Red-breasted robins are chirping and plans are being made for camping trips.

Featured Practice Opportunity

Downtown Winnipeg

Canada Medical Careers has been asked to recruit two general practitioners for a beautiful new clinic. This clinic is located in a with a high-income family demographic.

This new clinic has state-of-the-art equipment including a full stress test lab on-site.

You will practice with three GP’s, three endocrinologists, two internists, and one registered dietician.

You can expect a gross income of £230,000 – £375,000 per annum.

Located in the amazing city of Winnipeg, in the province of Manitoba, your family will enjoy the incredible natural beauty and recreational activities. The public schools are rated very high and there are also private schools, both secular and religious.

There are two universities and if there is another doctor in your family’s future the school of medicine at the University of Manitoba is highly ranked in Canada.

The population of Winnipeg is almost one million people of diverse backgrounds. If you are a Muslim, there are multiple numerous mosques welcoming 5,000 people from 42 countries. For Roman Catholics there is St. Mary’s Cathedral and multiple parishes. No matter your religious beliefs, you will find a place of worship in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg has a strong economy with high levels of employment in a wide variety of industries. Winnipeg’s skyline has a new No. 1.

A soaring skyscraper at 300 Main St., one block from the famed intersection of Portage and Main, helped the city reach a new peak this month as the concrete was poured for the 41st floor.

Once completed later this year, it will be a 42-storey residential and retail pillar soaring 142 metres above the pavement, anchoring the south end of Winnipeg Square.

There are many other developments which reflect the growth of Winnipeg.

Doctors in Manitoba report higher than average income and a significantly lower cost of living! An opportunity to build wealth truly exists in Winnipeg.

If you are MRCGP, MICGP, FRACGP, FACRRM or DABFM you will move through the medical licensing process much faster than physicians without one of these designations.

A physician’s office and exam rooms in Canada!

Hospital in Canada

Typical patient exam room in Canada

Almost all clinics in Canada have the same characteristics. The patients coming to a clinic will be “attached” or “walk-in” patients. Attached means they have one family doctor in the clinic who provides ongoing care. Walk-in is exactly as it sounds. In the UK they are referred to as urgent care clinics. In some cases, we use the description “urgent care” as well. Many clinics offer medical to both types of patients.

When you see a patient, you will almost certainly see them in an exam room, with a closing door for privacy, and not a simple curtained-off area. Doctors often have their own private office with a personal desk where they can work. Patients are seldom seen in your private office. Some very busy clinics will have two or more doctors share an office. Most of our clinics have two exam rooms and one office for each doctor. Having two exam rooms makes it more efficient. As you are seeing one patient in an exam room, your assistant is preparing the next patient for you. Then as the first patient leaves another is being prepared.

This Month’s Geography Lesson – Nova Scotia

Canada

Nova Scotia is a province in eastern Canada. With a population of approximately one million residents. It is the most populous of Canada’s four Atlantic provinces. It includes Cape Breton Island and 3,800 other coastal islands as well as 5400 lakes. Yet, Nova Scotia is the second smallest province in Canada with no point of land being more than 55 km from an ocean.

Nova Scotia’s capital and largest city is Halifax, which today is home to about 45 percent of the province’s population. Halifax is the thirteenth-largest census metropolitan area in Canada, the largest city in Atlantic Canada, and Canada’s second-largest coastal city after Vancouver.

The economy is based on agriculture, fishing, mining, forestry and natural glass extraction. Nova Scotia is well known for lobster fishing, much of which is exported to China and other Asian countries.

“Nova Scotia” means “New Scotland” in Latin and is the recognized English-language name for the province.

We Pay Your Immigration Fees

Canadian money

When you plan your move to Canada, we pay up to $6,000 of your immigration legal fees. We do this so that you don’t get discouraged by the process. There are so many scoundrels out there that will take your money and you will either have great delays or not immigrate at all. The Canadian government regulates legitimate immigration counsellors but unfortunately there are still some who try and operate outside of the law.

At CanadaMedicalCareers.ca we want your immigration to go smoothly. You will have enough details to handle without any problems with your immigration. We work with only the largest and best law firms.

Physicians Apply

Trouble Completing Your PhysiciansApply.ca Account?

As recruiters, we discovered that many physicians have difficulty supplying their information this online service. A simple error, like not scanning all four corners of a document can cause rejection. Which documents do you have notarized? How do you submit your documents?

We have created an explanatory video that is yours FREE, just by asking. Contact [email protected] to receive your link!

If you are serious about practicing medicine in Canada the first thing you should do is open an account with PhysiciansApply.ca. It is an online portal operated under the auspices of the Medical Council of Canada (similar to the GMC in the UK). Every doctor coming to Canada must have an account. This is where your credentials must be verified. These credentials include your passport, medical degrees and more. Every province and territory of Canada has a regulatory authority to handle physician licensing and these authorities (Colleges) will need to access your PhysiciansApply.ca account before you can be licensed in Canada.

Don’t wait! Some documents can be verified quickly, and others may take some time, especially if you attended medical school in a country that is slow to respond to inquiries from Canada.

If you are an IMG, licensing in Canada as a physician simply does not happen without a PhysiciansApply.ca account.
